Lords of the Realm

I was dreaming of you, Shadow Warrior,

And the night we were lords of the realm.

I was dreaming of you 'til the sunlight spoiled it all -

Shattered the illusion that you were lying by my side

 

I never dreamed I could have you, so it was

Really no loss, no surpise

When all that I am couldn't hold you -

I shouldn't even have tried!

Last time I saw you we were

Lords of the Realm, for the night.

 

We were fighting the shackles of darkness

Sliding between wrong and right, we were

Conquering lands with our broadswords in hand,

Demons and dragons, and distances to fight, but

 

I never dreamed I could have you, so it was

Really no loss, no surpise

When all that I am couldn't hold you -

I shouldn't even have tried!

Last time I saw you we were

Lords of the Realm, for the night.

 

I'll feel no shame, I will bear no regret

That our passionate violence ran high.

If I am suffering, I've made my own pain,

It's rememberence offers the sigh

I should have known that we were

Only together for the night...
